Assisi Retreat 2018

In 2018 the Rainbow Lighthouse family journeyed to Assisi, the sacred heart of Italy and home of St. Francis and St. Clare.

Assisi has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries, where the spirit of St. Francis continues to inspire people of all faiths through his life of humility, peace and love for all creation. Walking through the medieval streets, entering the Basilica of St. Francis and the Church of St. Clare, and meditating in the quiet hillsides, we connected deeply to this timeless energy.

Moments of silence in the Eremo delle Carceri, the hermitage where St. Francis lived in prayer, opened the heart to simplicity and surrender. The hills and valleys surrounding Assisi carried the vibration of peace, reminding us of the beauty of creation and the call to live in harmony with it.

As we shared meals, laughter and reflection in the Umbrian sunshine, the presence of Francis and Clare could be felt guiding the retreat. Assisi offered us the gift of stillness, humility and joy – a reminder that each soul carries the capacity to be a channel of peace in the world.
